2009 Water Garden Tour Information
- Thanks for everyone's help in making our first pond tour a success!
Description of the Ponds displayed on the Tour
- This cascading water feature graces the entry of the condominium. Built around 2002, this water feature contains an Aquascape skimmer and Biofalls with a 2900 gallon per hour pump.
- The transition into this backyard will lead you by a garden where a simple 100 gallon plastic preformed pond originally was located. The plastic pond was removed and passed on to a friend to make way for Pond #2. The remains of pond #2 are located close by. This pond is in the process of being dismantled and some of the products were reused and incorporated into Pond #3. As you gaze towards your left, you will be in awe of what I would consider one of the most ambitious, do-it-yourself Koi ponds I have seen in more than 20 years of building water gardens. Enjoy!
- Can’t decide if the water feature should be located in the front or backyard? This is a two for one stop with water features located in both the front and back. Guests are always intrigued as they walk towards the front door and are greeted by the Koi. Approximately 15 years old, this water garden was built using an Aquascape system. The simple backyard water garden was installed to add the sound of water and soften the landscape.
- Interested in Koi? This 7,000 Koi pond was doubled in size four years ago. A “Bubble Bead Filter” is simply backwashed a couple times per week to maintain the crystal clear water. Bubbling rocks and a waterfall may sometimes be overlooked as one focuses on the premier selection of Koi.
- Spend an extra few minutes and stroll through their extensive collection of fine ornamental conifers. The water feature is flanked by an outstanding weeping larch. This water feature contains a Savio Compact Skimmer and Easy Pro water fall filter.
- This simple, elegant water feature highlights the perennial garden. A tranquil waterfall can be heard outside the kitchen window or while entertaining on the deck. Powered by an 1800 gallon per hour pump in a Savio skimmer this water garden is a true garden accent.
- Originally built around 1988 this water garden was upgraded in 2004 and filtration improvements were added. The Savio skimmer and Easy Pro waterfall tank maintain the clarity of this 1,200 gallon water garden. Have a seat on the bench, graced with lichen and imagine relaxing after a long day at the office.
- Double cascading waterfalls and a nearly 3,000 gallon water garden grace this gazebo and double tiered patio. This backyard is well equipped to entertain the entire family!
- Bring your chipping wedge and putter! This backyard paradise begins with a tee box and putting green. This 6,000 gallon “golfer’s water hazard” has multiple waterfalls, a stone bridge, raised gardens and patios. Take special notice that majority of the backyard is comprised of many varieties of evergreens. Raking fall leaves in the fall is minimal in this backyard oasis!
